St. Peter's was founded in 1834 as the first Episcopal Mission in Charlotte at a time when Mecklenburg County was composed of a series of small villages. As the city of Charlotte has grown, so has St. Peters, providing the community with a large body of contributions that have been examples of lasting achievements through faith, courage, and ceaseless devotion to Christian causes. Located on the corner of Seventh Street and North Tryon Street, St. Peter's has been an integral part of the development and renewal of the downtown Charlotte community.
